Annually VAN features a variety of programs that converge on allowing Volunteer Administrators to learn from experts among us and those partnering with us. We hope to stimulate new thoughts and growth in the field by providing a rich variety of professional development opportunities in the forms of presentations, round tables, and networking sessions.

December Meeting: Skills-Based Volunteering

Title: Skills-Based Volunteering

Skills-based volunteering is rapidly growing, with more than 50% of companies offering a formal SBV program. Are you interested in building your organization’s capacity through the use of skilled volunteers? Join Marjie Bland, Senior Consultant at Common Impact for a discussion on skills based volunteering best practices and trends. The presentation will include tips on selecting and planning for SBV projects, crafting project descriptions and timelines, recruiting and managing skilled volunteers, and evaluating project success.
