Published on 11/22/2019

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings friends,

The season of gratitude is upon us. As I look back over the year and consider those things that I’m most grateful for having experienced, my time as VAN president must be counted among them. I highly recommend the experience. It has been all things - interesting, challenging, rewarding, and fun. Here are my personal favorites:

Top Ten Things I’m Grateful for as the 2019 Van Board President

10.All those who have served on the board since 1981 for keeping the group in forward motion
9. The welcoming partners who have hosted our meetings this year
8. Lt. General Michael Ferriter’s session on leadership
7.…and then watching him toss around our members in a self-defense demo!
6. The curious nature of our members and our board – always willing to try, learn, and grow.
5. The new logo – I know it’s not fair to mention it since we haven’t had the reveal yet ;)
4. The gavel. Yes! You get to mallet-sit the tiny hammerduring your term as president!!
3.The vast spectrumof experiences, personalities, interests, and causes that our members and member organizations bring with them – so many perspectives to learn from!
2. The talented and committed members of the 2019 VAN Board
1. The support and inspiration I find at each and every VAN meeting

There's so much more, but I encourage you to try a term on our board to get the full picture. I hope to see you tomorrow at the November Celebration!

Elizabeth Garrabrant

VAN Central Ohio President
