VANtage: March 2020

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello Intrepid People Seekers,

Nothing adds flair to the lives of volunteer engagement professionals like a pandemic!  I hope this missive finds you all hale and hearty and prepared to pull out all the magic you have on hand to get the job done through this trying and scary time.

The work our volunteers accomplish is of great importance to the region.  We have a real challenge on our hands - how do we do our best to ensure the health and safety of our volunteers while still providing the critical services our community needs?  What is the best way to balance our responsibility to all parties?  I wish I had quick and easy answers to impart, but this is a complex issue.  Thankfully, there will be many brave individuals ready to stand up and fill in for those who cannot.  Humans are pretty awesome when the chips are down.  I sincerely hope that each of you have tremendous success with the plans and solutions you're implementing within your organizations.

And now, since I've penned an uncharacteriscally sombre message, I feel compelled to make up for it by introducing Felicia.  Hi Felicia!

My work here is done.
