PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings Members and Member Organizations,

My choice phrase of the season: Change and Collaboration. The one constant for the foreseeable future is CHANGE. Another constant is COLLABORATION.

I must always be flexible, and without collaboration with external partners and my agency team, I cannot succeed. That is why I am excited about our next Professional Development virtual session! Madeleine Bogard, Besa's Coordinator of Corporate Volunteer Engagement, will join us to share their engagement strategy with corporate volunteers. Our speaker will give us insight into how they are being creative with volunteer engagement during these difficult times, and how to make the greatest impact through these partnerships.

I consider all of our volunteers as key front line team members. They put themselves in harm’s way every day. I salute all of them and those of you who continue to work to increase their safety, so they can continue the vital work in our communities, especially now! Our organization is committed to being your partner in the dissemination of information about events, recruitment strategies, and how to increase volunteer involvement.

Gerlinde Higginbotham
VAN Central Ohio President
