Dear VAN Members,
Am I the only one who needs a vacation after a vacation? It can be so tough to strike the right balance with relaxation and personal recovery time, whether it's due to fun and adventure or demands of life, work, and progress. But I think we can all agree that we can’t go full speed all of the time if we want to give people our best and enjoy ourselves along the way.
As volunteer administrators, we rarely have a down moment. If you are with an organization that has volunteers in the building every day, there is always a question to answer as you walk in the door, a new volunteer to help feel welcome, or program goals to consider. We have a lot on our plates! We need to take time for ourselves to rest & recover!
How do you like to unwind? Recently, I have found rest through journaling, or playing Rummy 500 in the evenings with my husband (it's all we have energy for during our home renovation).
Are you open to new ideas? Join us for this month’s session to explore Self-Care Practical Tactics.
See you then!
