Schedule of Professional Development Workshops

Annually VAN features a variety of programs that converge on allowing Volunteer Administrators to learn from experts among us and those partnering with us. We hope to stimulate new thoughts and growth in the field by providing a rich variety of professional development opportunities in the forms of presentations, round tables, and networking sessions.

We hope you will join us and share your thoughts, questions, and experiences in the field of volunteer administration! Please note the topics and locations below are subject to change. Please check this page regularly for up-to-date information.

Professional Development meetings are included in VAN membership unless an additional cost is noted, Members please LOGIN to RSVP at no cost. Guests are invited to attend one meeting for free and subsequent meetings for $20 each.

May Meeting: Measure It! Turning Data into Dollars 8:30am-10:30am


Sheri Chaney Jones, President of Measurement Resources Company and author of “Impact & Excellence” will join us to present on the importance of developing a high-performance culture for engaging volunteers and greater overall organizational impact. Inspiring research from Impact & Excellence will be shared around how social sector organizations who establish these goals are more successful at engaging volunteers and raising more dollars. She will share practical strategies that will allow volunteer coordinators and social sector leaders to use data to increase revenues, strengthen relationships with funders, engage more volunteers, and prove their social return on investment and impact to the world.
